After my first competition at the 1999 Jan Tana, I was very pleased with my third place finish & remember admiring the first place finisher, her physique and the attention she was getting & I just knew that one day, that could be me! It was so exciting to see my body change as I leaned down for a competition, to see exactly what was underneath. When I say underneath, I guess now I can really say that this has two meanings, bodybuilding really does show what is underneath!
My husband & I continued to train through 2000 and this time set our site on the NPC Pittsburgh Championships in Pittsburgh, PA since it was a bit closer to our location in Virginia than the Jan Tan Classic which we did in 1999 in Charlotte, NC.The Pittsburgh Championships turned out to be a very large show & continues to be today. It always hosts a wide variety of guest posers including Mr. Olympia and the top Olympia competitors.
